I’ve had the honor of teaching and speaking within the photography industry. Among all this I’ve seen hundreds of wedding portfolios and always wind up seeing a trend in their reception work. Most play it safe at the party, flood whatever space there is with tons of light to make sure everything is lit. I am inspired to do the opposite in my after hours work. I strive to accurately represent the space as it’s presented and to create images filled with life, edge and appeal. I’ve always drawn my reception work from inspiring party’s of the rich and famous captured by iconic fashion photographers like Testino or Richardson.
